Here are few more pics from inside the original Starbuck's at Pike Place Market in Seattle, Wa.
Here is a pic. of the overall store inside. I noted that they used the shelving above the counters to store a lot of their products. Interesting, not so corporate or polished as all the corporately designed stores but very quaint.
The "First Starbuck's Store" plaque inside the store as you walk in. It anchors the corner of their POS counters.
As you enter the store and if you turn around and look up and back at the entrance you will see this very cool looking coffee bean hog draped in a canvass sack.
My cpa has an expression, "Pigs get fat but hogs get slaughtered". As I understand, the difference between a pig and a hog is 1 pound. At 119 lbs. a pig is still a pig but when it reaches 120 lbs. it becomes a hog and is then slaugtered and sold.
I asked the girls behind the counter how much does it weigh and they said he is really light. So .... I guess he's still considered a pig. : )
Here's a picture of the four singers I wrote about earlier. They kind of consider themselves evangelists that sing old time gospel hymns along with a mix of blues which I find quite charming.
They always have an uplifting word and are thanking God for life which I find rather charming. God knows with all the rain and dreary weather in Seattle, folks need people like this.
I picked up their,"A Moment In Time" cd this past trip and think it is their best cd.
